Sewing: Palazzo-style Pants

A dear friend sent me this lovely cotton fabric a while back and I was wondering what to sew with it. I thought of a matching Mama-daughter skirt at first and soon realized the resident preteen will not wear skirts, especially skirts that match her mom's.

Then, it struck me to make my usual lounge pants - easy elastic waist for house wear. But the fabric was too gorgeous for that.

So it became a lovely pair of Palazzo-ish pants with a sash waist that ties at the side to hold the pants in place.
